1st Nine vs Forest Hill - Lost 3-9
A pretty average day all round at the Forest Hill paddock. You really don't appreciate how good our home ground is until you go somewhere else. Not a great deal to say about the game, we made plenty of contact all day on the Forest Hill hurler but coudln't get past the infield all that often. Tim was the only shining light with the bat with 3 from 3.
Other hits went to: Carlos, James and Chao 1

RBIs:  Carlos and James 1

Pitching:
 Carlos:  4 inns, 10 hits, 8 runs, 6 earned runs, 1K
Andrew: 2 inns, 2 hits, 1 run, 1K
Errors were costly in the field allowing more than the 5 unearned runs. A much improved effort is needed next time around by all.

2nd Nine vs Forest Hill - Lost 4-19
The seconds did some very good things on this blustery day but came up short going down to the top team on the ladder who haven't lost a game this year 19-4. A fantastic start to the game saw us jumping out to a 3-0 lead only to give up 4 unearned runs in the bottom of the first which was the story for the day unfortunately. We sparked again later with Aaron having a great day with the bat going 2 for 2 and both doubles. Some good relief pitching by Jerry and Anthony as he came in and didn't give up any runs.
A tough defensive game as we gave up too many runs due to errors with only 6 earned runs on the day. We will need to get back on track soon if we are to have a crack at the finals, we definitely have the talent to be a very good side but seem to lapse in the field from time to time.

3rd Nine vs Forest Hill - Lost 6-8
We last week we had one of our best wins this week was disappointing. Not necessarily because the way we played we only made a couple of errors they started to hit the ball and came back from 6-1 down to win 8-6. A couple of errors and and couple of decisions going against us hurt, but that is baseball and we need to learn from it.
On the positive side there were 2 stand outs for this round both with their batting for Gary Shipp and Tony Clapp coming up with great hits. Tony revving the player of the week award well done, but please do not learn your sliding skills from your dad. I started on the mound with the plan to pitch 4 or so innings then bring Peter in unfortunately a bit of a back strain to Peter kept me there. Here's to next week.
There is plenty of time to bridge the three game gap to the top four.

4th Nine vs Forest Hill - Lost 3-19
Errors are one thing, but not knowing the play can be worse, and that is what we were guilty of this week. The offence was again lacking but showing signs of breaking thru. Good to have a full 9 and with most on time, we did the pre game things well and on time. One highlight was newcomer Jason Povey with a walk and a hit for his first ever PA's, as well as a few good plays in the infield.
5th Nine vs Northcote - Lost 4-17
No match report submitted.
Under 13s vs BYE - It was a draw. Good to see all at the training session.
Training - Wed 4:45pm to 5:45pm at our home ground.
