Results

1st Nine vs Latrobe Uni - Won 5-2 - Still on top!!!

It was a somewhat unconvincing afternoon but to come away with a Big W next to your name is always a big plus. Also, with the win, North Balwyn much like the Mighty Magpies sit on top of the competition ladder (had to get that reference in somewhere). Andrew Speed started on the mound and did enough in trying conditiions to give his team a chance to win. All tied up late in the game, John Anderson came through in what is surely the at bat of the season. With bases loaded and scores tied, after getting two strikes early, and then a couple of balls, then fouling a couple off, he came through with a hit to give North Balwyn the lead. Something they would not let go of for the game.

After three rounds, North Balwyn is on top of the ladder. But for how long.

2nd Nine vs Latrobe Uni - Won 9-7

After playing well so far this season with no result, the 2nds have come through for their first win of the season in fine fashion. Randall Vavra on the mound went the distance with the offence finally firing on all cyllinders to give North Balwyn their first win of the year.

3rd Nine vs Panton Hill - Won 9-6

The 3rd Nine have opened their account for the season with a hard fought win over Panton Hill. Well done to the thirds.

4th Nine vs Glen Iris - Lost 23-1

Not much to report this week with errors dominating our game. The score of 23-1 tells it all. A fine job on the mound by Dave Boell however. Players need to get themselves down to training if they can. Remember that when we have a game at home to be ther early to help set up the ground.

5th Nine vs Knox - Lost 18-1

Scoreline pretty much tells the story. Knox are always a tough outfit.

Under 13s v- BYE

Had a bye this week - Home game 13th May at well, home.

Damlow Nominations:

No nominations this week for the Damlow award. A reminder to all newcomers that the Damlow Award is for something silly, funny or just downright stupid that someone might do on or off field during the course of the season. All nominations can be sent toL
